Oatka Creek Park • July 9

Brown Thrasher. This bird must love this perch. Actually, this perch is popular with many of the birds in the area. The thrasher's other foot and leg are tucked up under its feathers and against its body for warmth. (This is typical with most songbirds.) It was a chilly morning for summertime (low sixties) with a rain front moving in.

Pointed-leaved Tick-Trefoil

Pointed-leaved Tick-Trefoil. Sometimes that leaves are as interesting as the flowers. Note the “points” at the tips of the leaves.
