Green Frog

Monarch caterpillar

Field Sparrow

Field Sparrow

Eastern Bluebird. As I walked through the fields of Bluebird Trail, a large flock of between one and two dozen bluebirds suddenly rose from the goldenrods and flew to the edge of the field. A fall (pre)migration event?

Fringed Gentian. Today was profoundly cloudy, so these flowers are closed.

Fringed Gentian

Goldenrod. Most of the flowers heads are now turning brown and preparing to go to seed. Note the two bluebird boxes just poking up from the goldenrod near the back of the field.

Orange Hawkweed
