Oatka Creek Park • October 4

Downy Woodpecker. Mixed flocks of birds continue to appear along the creek. Woodpeckers of more than one type of species are usually in the mix.

Red-bellied Woodpecker. This was one member of a family of Red-bellies that was along the creek. This is a female and from the behavior, I would guess it is a juvenile.

Red-bellied Woodpecker. It was curious about me.

Red-bellied Woodpecker. It was also hungry and worked for some time on the branch. You can see the red on the top of its head is still filling in a bit.

Maple Hill. The colors in the park seemed to have jumped to a new level all of the sudden!
