Oatka Creek Park • August 5
Eastern Kingbird. Though a common bird in the region, kingbirds are not common to Oatka Creek Park.
Baltimore Oriole. This is a juvenile. Ever since their broods fledged earlier this summer, Baltimore Orioles have been absent of the park. So, it was nice to find this one today.
Great Blue Heron. This is an adult with a white skull cap and shaggy neck feathers. A juvenile had just flushed in response to my approach of the bridge. This adult is looking a bit more relaxed about the situation.
Belted Kingfisher. This bird is both playing hide-and-seek with me and squeezing in some fishing at the same time.
