Oatka Creek Park • June 30
Great Blue Heron. At some point this summer this adult will leave and a juvenile will take its place along the creek. I'm in no hurry for the swap, however!
Swamp Milkweed. There are not that many Swamp Milkweeds along the banks of Oatka Creek, though it looks like that at first glance. Upon closer inspection the predominant deep pink flower turns out to be Joe Pye Weed which is just now starting to bloom.
