Belted Kingfisher. It was hot this day and the kingfisher here is panting.

Belted Kingfisher. This is a male as it only has the one blue belt at the top of its chest. This is slightly unusual for the creek, as I almost always see females.

American Lady

Eastern Bluebird carrying food for nestlings. This is the male of the nesting pair.

Eastern Bluebird. The male is "wing waving" to the female.

Eastern Bluebird. This is the female, who is also carrying food.

Butterfly Weed. These bright orange flowers are just about to bloom here, about two weeks ago. Today they are in full bloom throughout the fields of the park.
