Oatka Creek Park • May 27

Oxeye Daisy. It was a cloudy day. However, a number of new for the season wildflowers were blooming.

Butter-and-Eggs. I really like these wildflowers, though they are considered a noxious weed in several states.

White-tailed Deer

Eastern Phoebe. It is guarding its territory which is by the bridge over the creek. (This is one of the posts on the bridge.) Its nest is underneath the bridge.

Eastern Phoebe

Belted Kingfisher. This is a female due to the rusty belt underneath the main blue belt.

Cow Vetch

Yellow Hawkweed. It's almost time for one of my favorite wildflowers: Orange Hawkweed.

Field Sparrow

Little Wood-Satyr. This is a very common butterfly. However, it is almost always in motion, so trying to get pictures can be sometimes be quite frustrating!

Little Wood-Satyr. Actually, I feel butterfly photography is harder than bird photography, but maybe that's because I am less experienced with the former.
