Oatka Creek Park • March 6

Oatka Creek Park, Monroe, US-NY
Mar 6, 2012
Protocol: Traveling
4.8 mile(s)
Comments:     It was a mostly cloudy 45F hike in Oatka today. There were a number of episodes of interesting bird activity. Robins were active throughout the park and especially along the creek. Formations of Canada Geese frequently flew overhead and the crows seemed somewhat agitated. At one point a very unsettled Red-tailed Hawk arose from its perch and flew for cover, calling the whole time. However, there were no crows in the area or signs of any other potential tormenter. Seasonal bird pairing continues with a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers interacting over my head at one point.
