Ontario Beach and Charlotte Pier, Monroe, US-NY
Jan 11, 2012
Comments: It was a sunny and clear 39F noontime walk in Ontario Beach Park and Charlotte Pier. I checked all its usually spots, but did not find the Snowy Owl today. The raft of Long-tailed Ducks was up to seven and as I sat down on the pier and waited, they slowly paraded by at a moderately close range as I took pictures. At the end of the pier I spied a lone Great Black-backed Gull further out resting on the water's surface. Back at the base of the pier, there were a few Red-breasted Merganser upstream by the ferry terminal building. I did not count the pigeons, Mallards, and Ring-billed Gulls today.
Mute Swan 1
Long-tailed Duck 10
Red-breasted Merganser 4
Great Black-backed Gull 1
