Charlotte Pier • January 18

Today I headed out to Charlotte Pier over lunch to look for the Snowy Owl, but did not find her today. Instead, I took pictures of the Long-tailed Ducks, which are one of my favorite wintering ducks. According to Richard Crossley's "The Crossley ID Guide," Long-tailed Ducks have a "complex molt with several color patterns." The following descriptions are from his guide.
