Dec 27, 2011 8:10 AM - 10:29 AM
Protocol: Traveling
4.9 mile(s)
Comments:     It was an overcast 32F early morning birding hike in Oatka today. It was a very quiet morning, despite the length of the checklist. The most interesting find was the continuing Winter Wren along the creek. It was also a good day for chickadees. Curiously, when I check my records of Oatka I have to go back to December 29 of last year to equal today's count. Canada geese were active today, and it was a moderately good day for woodpeckers. Everything else seemed more interested in staying in deep cover and undetected.
