Comments:     It was a mostly sunny and 47F sunset hike in Oatka today. As I walked down the dirt road from the parking lot to the woods, the shrubs and trees vibrated with all manner of bird activity. One hefty vibration interested me, so I spished a bit and a Northern Mockingbird popped up and gave me a nice photo-op. Robins raised quite a din bathing in a large rain pool in the lower soccer field. Once in the woods the activity died down, though I was able to pick up my complement of Brown Creepers, Golden-crowned Kinglets, woodpeckers of all kinds, and a wealth of White-throated Sparrows. Not bad for a quick in-and-out of the park.
