Comments:     It was a partially sunny and 75F late morning birding hike in Oatka today. I tried for a sunrise hike, but a passing thunderstorm delayed the start. By mid morning it was still cloudy and occasionally sprinkling which seemed to have all the birds into hiding. The morning cleared from that point and the birds reappeared. The first event of note was in the woodland section of Black Billed Cuckoo Trail. A pair of inquisitive chickadees brought a pair of Black-throated Blue Warblers. Creekside brought a wealth of birds, including a Magnolia Warbler. On the way out via White Tail Trail, I spished up a juvenile Eastern Towhee and watched as a Green Heron flew by. On the dirt road leading back to the parking lot, a pair of Warbling Vireos (juveniles, perhaps), popped up for some furtive inspections as I passed by.
