Mendon Ponds Park - June 27

Last night I went on a marsh bird monitoring run around Quaker Pond in Mendon Ponds Park with Bob Spahn. The only marsh birds of note that we found were a couple of Virginia Rails that answered the recorded calls we were playing as part of the observational protocol. We never saw them, however. What we did see that was the highlight of the evening was an Osprey hunting over Quaker Pond. Mix in a few more common sights, and it was a fun evening!
