Owl Woods • April 6
I found a saw-whet in Owl Woods today over the noon hour. As is typical, this was a crafty guy (I think it was a male)! :-) He was totally invisible from the side of the tree facing the trail, but when I carefully made my way to the other side of the tree, there he was. With his back to the trail, he blended in perfectly with the tree from that perspective. If I hadn't picked up a tip or two on owl spotting on last Sunday's RBA trip, I might have missed this one altogether.
