Owl Woods • April 2

Mary Flood and I stopped by Owl Woods today, and with the help of a fellow birder found a Northern Saw-whet Owl. This one was a small one for a saw-whet. We thoroughly search the rest of the area, but did not find any additional owls. As we left the parking lot to head over to the hawk watch platform, a Merlin (a kind of falcon) flew by my car and landed in one of the small trees along the parkway. It was nice bonus sighting!
